Polyethylene glycol / PEG

Polyethylene glycol (PEG), also known as polyethylene glycol, is a polymer with the chemical formula HO(CH₂CH₂CH₂O)ₙH. PEG is made by the gradual addition polymerization of ethylene oxide with water or ethylene glycol, and it has good water solubility and It has good water solubility and a wide range of industrial applications. The physical form of PEG varies with the molecular weight.

Those with molecular weight below 700 are colorless, odorless and non-volatile viscous liquid; those with molecular weight between 700 and 900 are semi-solid; those with molecular weight of 1000 and above are light-white waxy solid or flocculent paraffin or fluid powder. The density of PEG is generally between 1.125~1.27 g/cm³, and its melting point ranges from -15 to 66℃.
